NEW Auto-locking Hand Control for adjustable care cots

This latest Theraposture innovation represents a breakthrough in hand control safety 

Patient safety is always our top priority. To enhance this commitment, we have introduced a new Auto-locking Hand Control (pictured below) for all our electrically adjustable cots so greater peace of mind is achieved for all.

Each Auto-locking Hand Control features an automatic locking function (Auto-Lock), in addition to the existing blue key. With the new Auto-locking Hand Control, the adjustment functions lock automatically after a period of 5 seconds of inactivity. To reactivate the Auto-locking Hand Control, the lock button is pushed in a particular sequence on the new locking keypad – this is a quick and simple process. The auto locking feature eliminates potential unintentional misuse of a cot, so safety is enhanced through exclusive operation only by parents or carers. Please see our instructional video below:

This innovation is a proven solution that has been in use since 2025. It removes any potential for patients and siblings / unintended users, being able to operate the hand control.

In summary, the new Auto-locking Hand Control will:

• auto lock after five seconds of inactivity
• still have the blue key
• be supplied as standard with all new cots manufactured since 2025
• be available retrospectively, free of charge, as part of our exchange programme for pre 2025 Mascot, Olaf, Ida, and Emma cots
