Getting legs into bed is a problem for many people – the Orbit 235X Combination offers the solution and allows couples to remain together in the same bed. The Orbit 235X Combination is available in a variety of sizes, styles, combination of functions and is made to look “at home in your home”.

The Orbit 235X Combination can be made so that both sides are separable to allow carer access to both sides of each half. This is an important consideration for those with progressive conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s.

When your bed is ready, you will receive a video walk around to show you your new bed. This allows you to check everything before it is delivered.

Customise your bed

The Orbit 235X Combination can be dressed to your personal taste, by either choosing an upholstered divan base or a solid oak enclosure. On the partner half, you can also choose either a 75cm (2’6”) or a 90cm (3’) mechanism with a choice of profiling only, or height adjustment and profiling.

Each bed is individually specified and detailed for each client.

Mattresses for rotating side

Theraposture offer a wide selection of specialist mattresses for the Orbit 235 Bed range. For the rotating side, you can choose from our range of foam mattresses below.

RW14 – A castellated reflex foam mattress suitable for low risk users with Waterlow scoring up to 14. Supplied with a wipe down cover as standard.

RW17 – Triple layer memory foam mattress suitable for medium risk users with Waterlow scoring up to 17, available in soft, medium and firm. Supplied with a wipe down cover as standard. Standard on all new and refurbished Rotoflex beds.

RW24 – Triple layer fibre filled memory foam mattress suitable for high risk users with Waterlow scoring up to 24. Supplied with a wipe down cover as standard.

RO-HO – Dry flotation. This Neoprene mattress is a zoned, advanced pressure-relieving surface that is ideal for users requiring very high levels of protection against pressure-related issues – up to grade 4 (very high risk). This mattress can be used on the foot section providing an entire RoHo surface. It is interchangeable with lower-risk options without the need for the bed to be modified. Because it is zoned, it works very well when the bed is rotated and the majority of the user’s weight is supported by the seat area, as the air cannot move to other areas of the mattress. For those requiring a very high level of pressure redistribution, the Rotoflex is also available with a range of specialist pressure care mattresses.

Mechanism for partner side

The profiling only action will allow you to independently raise and lower both the back rest and the leg section by simply pushing a button on the hand controller. If a carer or family member assists a person in bed, the variable height function will smoothly and safely raise the occupant to a safe working height, thereby reducing the risk of a back care injury.

The Eco Profiling only mechanism is supported off the ground is suitable for users weighing up to 18 stones

Theraposture personally deliver and install your Orbit 235X Combination Bed in any room within your home, including rooms that are upstairs. The delivery is planned carefully with you and a date and time is agreed. Two experienced technicians will carefully build the Orbit 235X Combination in your bedroom and can help to move existing furniture if needed. We also provide a bed disposal service and a 14-day storage before disposal option if needed. Each delivery includes full training and a chance to try the bed whilst we are there, to be sure it is what you need.

Is a mattress included?

A medium risk pressure relieving RW17 is included in the price with a choice of soft, medium, or firm. We also have upgrade high-risk and very-high risk options. The partner half comes with a Luxury Pocket Sprung with a choice of soft, medium, or firm (upgrades available).

Can I have different mattress on each half of the bed?

Yes, this is nearly always the case. If they are different thicknesses, we build the bed so that this is accounted for and they will be level.

Will I see my finished bed before it is delivered?

Yes, for all bespoke products, we will send you a video walk around of the finished product before it is delivered.

How many controllers will I receive?

One handset is supplied for each half, so two in total.

Are the Upholstered Surround and Headboard included?

Yes, you have a choice of standard range fabrics and headboard shapes.

Can carers get to both sides of the Orbit 235X half?

To achieve this, we can make the two beds separable, with the Orbit having central locking. A double headboard will be fitted to the wall.

What is the TV position?

The Orbit 235X Combination has a function called Anti Trendelenburg. This allows the whole bed to tilt with the head above the feet. If you raise your legs, and tilt the bed, you achieve a great position for watching TV.

Will you deliver upstairs?

Yes, we do. The Orbit 235X Combination is designed to be safely and easily delivered anywhere in your home.

Will you take my old bed away?

Yes, we will for a small charge. We can even store your bed for 14 days should you need to return your Orbit 235X Combination.

How long is the warranty?

Our warranty is fully inclusive covering all parts, labour, and call-out for 3 years. This can be extended to 5 years, and annual servicing is also available.

What if I change my mind?

Up to and including the day of your delivery, you can choose to cancel your order or decide not to keep your Orbit 235X Combination and there if no cost to you. Following this we have a returns policy allowing the bed to be returned within the first 14 days for £2,000.

Orbit 235X Divan beds purchased from NEW

The Orbit 235X half of a Combination bed qualifies for a guaranteed buy back if the client has either paid the full retail price for their bed or if they have MS or Parkinsons and have benefitted from the 10% discount taken from the full retail price.

If sold at a qualifying price:

1 to 6 months old: £3,000 less the cost of the divan base, with free collection
7 to 12 months old: £2,000 less the cost of the divan base, with free collection
13 to 24 months old: £1,500 less the cost of the divan base, with free collection
25 to 36 months old: £1,000 less the cost of the divan base, with free collection

Any special offer prices or promotions with a sales price that is effectively less than the above will not be considered as a normal qualifying buy back sale. Where a special offer price was applied at time of purchase for a MS or Parkinsons client, we will reduce the value of the buy back by the amount of additional discount given.

Combined delivery and assessment (CDA)

No deposit is needed. We will bring a new Orbit 235X Rotating Bed to your home for you to try, complete with a surround made to your personal choices. As part of the process, we configure the bed to your personal settings and preferences, and we help assess its suitability for you. If it is looking like a good solution and you decide to keep it, you can pay for the bed and take ownership or start the rental.

If the assessment concludes that it isn’t suited to you, then we take it out, put everything back as it was – there is nothing to refund and no cost to you at all. This is a one stage process and will typically take about 2–3 weeks. We are effectively combining the assessment with the installation, so two processes all done during one visit, which allows us not to charge any delivery cost. This is risk free and the best way to try a Rotating Bed.
