Theraposture equipment remains vital for individuals with restricted mobility to remain independent, safe, and comfortable in their own home. It supplies trusted medical devices that allow people to be less reliant on carers, avoid relocation to residential care and reduce NHS and social services intervention. During the pandemic, Theraposture products, particularly the Rotoflex turning bed, have proven even more vital in reducing pressures on A&E by lowering falls and the chances of contracting Covid from visiting carers. Proven to eliminate care costs in many scenarios and recommended by leading Occupational Therapists, Theraposture electrically powered products will continue to be supplied in the safest, appropriate and ethical manner.

At the start of the pandemic, Theraposture took the lead in Covid safety by rapidly introducing procedures to protect vulnerable customers, Occupational Therapists, and its staff. The business was regarded as exemplary through its use of hospital-grade PPE and robust procedures from the outset, so reassurance was provided to all who came into contact with Theraposture.

Despite legal requirements being relaxed by the Government from 19th July, this high level of protection will be continued by Theraposture Trusted Assessors and technicians to ensure minimal risk and maximum peace of mind.

  • All staff will follow stringent hygiene processes and receive temperature checks at the start of each working day.
  • Lateral flow tests will be completed on a regular basis and all equipment will be thoroughly sanitised before home demonstrations or deliveries.
  • Protective clothing, hospital-grade masks and latex or non-latex gloves will be worn during all visits and social distancing measure will remain.

Liam Braddell, Theraposture Sales Director, comments:

“As ever we are fully focused on the needs of our clients and will not be relaxing any of our Covid safety procedures in the near future. We are recognised as an essential equipment supplier and have the backing of the NHS, BHTA and major charities such as Parkinson’s UK and the MS Society. Our products, such as the award-winning Rotoflex, help with independent bed transfers and therefore drastically reduce the risk of spreading Covid from close contact with carers.”

“In addition, our remote assessments via video link continue to provide a popular contactless service for end users and healthcare professionals seeking safe interaction with our in-house Occupational Therapist, Shaun Masters. Our whole approach will continue to place safety as the number one priority, so that positive outcomes can be achieved as quickly and easily as possible.”

Covid-safe adjustable bed and cot services from Theraposture

In this short video, Liam and Tom explain how Theraposture is keeping its adjustable bed, chair and care cot customers safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.

To all of our customers,

The well-being of our customers; our associates and our staff is our absolute priority, and you can be absolutely assured that we have taken all of the necessary precautions to achieve this.

All of our employees are fully aware of the current requirements and are following our Covid – 19 policy to protect you and our staff.

washing hands in sink

Our staff wash their hands before and after every customer contact.

Every morning, our Delivery Teams, Trusted Assessors and our Service Technicians check their temperatures before they leave home.

Customer-facing staff then send the results by text to the company so that we know our employees are safe to work and to visit our customers.

Assessments are available either at a client’s home or by personal live video consultation with our in-house OT, using easily accessible technology such as Star-Leaf, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, Zoom, or any other platform you are familiar with.
We can arrange for video group consultations involving several persons, so that family members and healthcare professionals can all be involved. Often this will include the use of equipment that will be set up and operated as part of the consultation. Please call 0800 834654 to book an appointment or use our online booking app.

The equipment that we provide is vital in ensuring that our customers can remain independent at home and can avoid residential care settings. For example, by using the Rotoflex Bed it is likely that less external help will be needed to help with bed transfers and therefore the risks of spreading the Covid virus are massively reduced.

Remember that the Government recommended 2 metre distancing is for those not wearing PPE, so with this extra protection we are working very safely.

These are our PPE measures in place to keep you and our employees safe:

  • A protective mask that is P3 classification (P3 offers the highest filtration effectiveness and retains about 99.95% of particles)
  • Latex or non-Latex protective gloves (dependent on client preferences).
  • Protective overalls for clothing.
  • Protective covers for shoes.
  • Face visors.
  • Dettol type wipes to wipe down all surfaces that we have been in contact with.
  • Alcohol-based hand gels used between each customer contact.

Additionally, our staff will wash their hands before and after every customer contact.

When we arrange to visit your home for an assessment or for a delivery/service call, we will ask you detailed questions to establish if there is any risk to you or to us. We will not take any risks that affect the health of our clients or our staff.

We have been operating at full capacity without incident since the pandemic started. We have learned a great deal and have enhanced our procedures to ensure that we can keep everyone safe. Will continue to follow developments on a daily basis with intense scrutiny and will always fully comply with the advice given by the experts.
