Who can use this service?
Everyone. Whether you are looking for an adjustable bed or chair for yourself or a loved one, or a care cot for a child, video assessments and product demonstrations are available to you. Equally, if you are a Healthcare Professional such as an OT or carer, you are most welcome to use the service. We can also provide CPD educational content if required.
Is there a cost with a video assessment?
No, it is completely free of charge.
How do you book a video call?
You simply use our online booking calendar. Click on your preferred date, fill in a few details and that is it!
You will receive an automated notification of your booking via email. An advisor will then contact you to finalise arrangements and discuss what products need to be set up ready for the call. If you would like to alter bookings you simply email email@example.com or you can call us on 0800 834654.
What are the main advantages?
There are many benefits to choosing a video assessment and product demonstration. You have the convenience of not receiving a home visit and more people can be involved in the meeting without having to travel. You can discuss your needs with a highly experienced equipment specialist / OT and see products working from the comfort of your own home, in the specific context of your own needs. Appointments are available throughout the working week and booking is easy and simple.
Overall video calls can speed up the process of finding a solution and benefiting from it.
What is involved with a video call?
Before the appointment, one of our advisors will telephone you to discuss your needs and to advise how we set up the video call. The appointment is confirmed and then you are sent a link via email to simply click on the agreed time and date. Theraposture sets up the call so all you need to do is join.
When the time comes for your video call, all you need to do is click the link and you will be connected to our video conferencing room where a Trusted Assessor or OT will be ready to assess your needs and to demonstrate equipment – this is a conversation that is personalised to you and your situation. Several other participants can be included in the call which may include your OT, carer, friend or family member. They will also be sent the meeting link before the call.
Once the session is completed, which typically lasts one hour, the advisor will summarise the key points and arrange for an estimate to be sent out with final recommendations. They will then end the video session.
How are Theraposture video calls safe and secure?
We only use the latest versions of video apps, so they are secure from hackers. We offer a variety of software options included Starleaf which is preferred by Newlife, the disabled children’s charity. The latest version of Zoom is currently a popular choice as its security settings have been enhanced.
Can I receive a home visit instead?
Yes, you can. Following the guidance of Public Health England and upon a customer request, our Trusted Assessors can provide home visits whilst maintaining social distancing and wearing PPE. We have a robust code of conduct to protect against Covid-19 which is a protocol already in successful operation during product installations. Video product demonstrations with an equipment specialist can also be included during home visits if you prefer.
